Iron Fist Backstory

Hey guys,

It’s Alex M. So, I know I have not been the most active blogger on the fandom studio (my last post was on Doctor Strange in October)…but I will try to make up for it by giving you guys a condensed version of Marvel’s new Iron Fist T.V. show’s comic backstory (man that’s a mouthful!). So, to collect reasearch for this I visited Marvel.com and Google. I’ll put all the websites I visted at the bottom of this post if you all want to do your own research.

The original Iron Fist’s name was Danny Rand. Danny Rand visited the mystic city of K’un-Lun. K’un-Lun was told to be created by Aliens and ruled by their descendants, called the Dragon Kings. Danny Rand saved the ruler of this mystic city, Lord Tuan, and in return, he made Danny heir. Yu-Ti, the former heir, didn’t like that.

While in K’un-Lun Danny married and had a daughter. He also won a ritual battle agianst Lei Kung the thunderer, which entitled him to the power of Shau-Lao the undying…giving him the power of the Iron Fist. Danny refused to use this power until after Yu-Ti attacked him and his men. At this point he returned to Earth and became a successful buisnessman.

This is where the T.V. series will pick up, according to the trailer. I’m not sure if we will be able to see K’un-Lun or not. As you can see in the trailer, Danny Rand has been away from the earth for quite some time. It apears he will take on a sort of Green Arrow or Batman role…playboy returns and fights corruption within his company while saving his city from evils at night.

Danny Rand is the last member of the Defender’s line up, which will be a huge team-up between Luke Cage, Daredevil, and Jessica Jones, as well as Iron Fist. The Defenders will be premiring in September of 2017.

Danny Rand will be played by Finn Jones, known for his portrayal of Sir Loras Tyrell in the Game of Thrones. The series was created by Scott Buck, known for Dexter. With just these two people alone, the series is looking good already.

I personally can’t wait for this to come out, but for now I need to finish binge watching Luke-Cage, Jessica Jones, and Daredevil so I know what to look foward to in The Defenders. What are you guys looking foward to in this new T.V. show? Thanks for reading!
