Fangirl Christmas Day 12 – Twelve Doctors Travelling

Hello Fellow Fanpeople!

Merry Christmas to you all! I hope you are having a WONDERFUL christmas with your loved ones and that so far, the holidays have been wonderful!

Today I’m gonna talk about Doctor Who. Yes, I will fangirl too, but today’s post is (hopefully) gonna be more of a discussion. So lets do this thing!

While discussing Doctor Who with a friend the other day, a thought came to me. Doctor Who is about peace. (and that’s why I chose today to talk about this.)

So, some of you might be scratching your heads and trying to figure out where the heck I pulled that statement from while some of you might just get it. (It honestly depends how much you know of the show) But really, if you just look at it. That’s what the show is about! It’s about peace. Or rather, making peace. If you look closely at each and every episode, you can find evidence of this all around.

The Doctor is a Time-Lord and he once fought in the great Time War. (Resulting in the destruction of his home planet, Gallifrey) After losing his home planet, The Doctor turned from a man of war to a peacemaker and protector.

Yes, life for The Doctor and his Companions may be a little hectic and it always seems the Doctor is looking for trouble but that’s not the case.

Yes, The Doctor goes ‘hunting’ for the trouble he detects but its all for the protection of the people on earth. (He has even stated many times that he is there for the protection of the people on Earth) Also, lets take a look at his ‘weapon of choice.’

The Sonic Screwdriver….Its exactly what it sounds like, and its not really a weapon. Think some sort of magical key that opens all doors OR a swiss army knife or something. But either way. The Doctor’s ‘weapon of choice’ is not a pain/death inflicting but one that causes no physical harm to people. (I mean he can use it for breaking and entering but….thats just minor details.)

I feel I am making no sense and just using the words ‘Peace’ a whole dang ton. BUT ANYWAYS! The point I am trying to get across with sounding super repetitive (and I’m failing) is that the Doctor is one of peace.

He is a peacemaker and protector. And as we sit here today surrounded by our loved ones and thinking about a peacemaker and protector, another may come to mind. For me, (and a few of the other gals on this blog) the ultimate hero, peacemaker and protector isn’t an two-hearted alien who travels through all of  time and space and carries around a screwdriver. No, the Ultimate Hero is a real life king, who came to earth over 2000 years ago in the form of a baby.

That hero is Jesus. A KING who died on a cross for the whole world just so we can all know and love him and live with Him in his forever kingdom.

Yes, we can spend christmas watching Doctor Who Christmas Specials or fangirling over other movies and other things that are lots of fun! but the real reason for the season is a forever King who is the ultimate peacemaker and protector…

Once again, I wish you all well as you celebrate christmas today and I hope you have a WONDERFUL holiday!

Now go! Be Merry, Drink lotsa eggnog, eat lots of snacks and food, enjoy your christmas gifts, spend time with your loved ones and all that stuff.

Until Next Time,

Adriana G.
